Ms. Sakashita has more than 26 years of experience in advising owners, builders, investors and business owners in all aspects of the acquisition, sale, leasing and due diligence of both commercial and residential properties.  She has represented both sellers and buyers in structuring, negotiating and documenting various transactions involving hotels, office buildings, ground leases, shopping centers, golf courses, apartment buildings and undeveloped land.  Some of the transactions Ms. Sakashita has been involved in include the sale and purchase of various lots in the Ko Olina development, several subdivisions on the Island of Hawaii, the Moanalua Hillside Apartments, the Ritz Carlton hotel, the Ala Moana Hotel and the sale of the Grand Waikapu and Sandalwood golf courses.   She has also been involved in the Honolulu airport redevelopment project and the purchase of the fee interest by a major Japanese retail chain and a subsidiary of that chain’s acquisition of the stock of another major Japanese retail chain with holdings in Hawaii and California.

Ms. Sakashita also regularly advises fee owners and ground lessees in rent renegotiations and has successful resolved disputes among property co-owners.

Prior to joining the firm, she was a partner in the Carlsmith Ball and Paul Johnson Park & Niles law firms.
